Bread Sage Stuffing

Ingredients:

regular slices of stale challah, cut into ¾" squares (it is easier to cut while the bread is soft and moist)

4

stalks coarsely chopped celery

2

chopped medium onions

½

cup of melted margarine

½-¾

cup of chicken broth

1½

tablespoons crushed dried sage leaves

1

teaspoon salt

¼

teaspoon pepper

eggs
Directions:
     

In a large bowl, stir together the challah, celery, and onions.

Add the chicken broth and the melted margarine; mix. Add the sage, salt, and pepper; mix. Separately, beat the eggs, then add and mix.

Cover and bake at 350° in a greased pan for 40 minutes remove cover and bake 10 more minutes until it browns.

Notes:
  Sweet Variation: Add 1 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts and 1 cup of raisins.
