Vanilla Buttercream Frosting

Ingredients:

1

pound (16 ounces) powdered sugar

6

tablespoons butter, softened

1½

teaspoon vanilla (regular strength)

¼

teaspoon salt

¼

cup half & half
Directions:
     
  • In a mixer, cream the softened butter.

  • Gradually add about half the sugar, blending well.

  • Beat in ¼ teaspoon salt, 1½ teaspoons vanilla, and 2 tablespoons of the cream.

  • Gradually blend in the remaining sugar.

  • Add enough cream to make of spreading consistency.

"I just made this using vanilla soy milk instead of the half and half and an all natural oil spread (dairy free) and it turned out great.  The recipe is great and it tastes exactly like using the ingredients above."
