Semisweet Chocolate Ganache

Ingredients:

1

cup heavy cream

2

tablespoons unsalted butter

2

tablespoons granulated sugar

12

ounces semisweet chocolate chips
Directions:
     
  • In a small microwave safe bowl, microwave on high for 2 minutes: the cream, butter, and sugar

  • When hot, stir to dissolve the sugar

  • Bring the mixture to a boil: microwave for another minute on high

  • Pour chocolate chips into the hot cream mixture; allow to stand for 5 minutes.

  • Gently stir until smooth.

  • Allow to cool to room temperature

Notes:
  Makes 2 cups
Comments:
  The ganache tasted like fudge... It was great...I love dark chocolate!!! However my husband & daughter didn't because they do not like dark chocolate. So I may have to try milk chocolate next time for them.

Well this was a mini practice cake...for a groom's cake. Next time I will also use a little less.

I did not let it cool all the way because I was afraid that it would not spread...then I worried if it was too warm that it would melt the buttercream icing. But all turned out great.
